EPTA members invest significant resources in ensuring that their products are safe when used properly. Safety is of paramount concern in the design of power tools all of which, by definition, have the capacity to cause harm to the user if wrongly used.

Life Cycle Analysis of Batteries


In 2011 EPTA provided extensive input into the LCA made by Bio Intelligence Services of the three rechargable battery chemistries. Bio Intelligence were the consultants selected by the European Commission to assist it in preparing the review of NiCd rechargable batteries in cordless power tools required by Art 4.4 of the Battery Directive. The LCA demonstrated that no rechargable battery technology is significantly better or worse than another.
